Seward's Genealogy, Native Americans, and Spirituality Website

This is the online home of Adam Seward.

Why I'm Here

I want to keep in touch online as well as by mail. Here's a preview of some subjects for which I hope to put up web pages:.

The Swedenborgian Church (a.k.a. the New Church, New Jerusalem Church, Church of the New Jerusalem).

Swedenborgianism is the religion of Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman) and Helen Keller. Many people now have an interest in angels. Swedenborgianism has a variety of teachings about angels, and how they work in our lives. Adam hopes to add pages on his own thoughts about Swedenborgianism. He investigates Native American connections to the Swedenborgian Church, including Francis St. James (Red Fox Skiuhushu), who was a figure in early twentieth century Pan-Indianism. The Swedenborgian Church of North America, and two other branches of Swedenborgianism, the General Church of the New Jerusalem and The Lord's New Church, have websites. This site is mostly concerned with the Swedenborgian Church of North America.

The Seward Family Genealogy

Adam is a descendant of Joseph Seward of Brunswick County, Virginia (1760-1833). To his knowledge, this is the only website about Joseph's descendants who went to Arkansas and Tennessee. Related family lines include Lanier, Washington, Jordan, Maclin, Eaves, Phillips, Hatcher, and Karr (Carr). Links will be added, if possible, to these families who are already represented on the web, such as the Laniers and the Washingtons. I hope to add links which will lead to either family histories online, or to actual useful genealogical information.
